You Need a Little Pep in your Step

Self confidence is one of the keys to achieving success - you hear that everywhere. Most people think self confidence is a result of success, but it's actually an ingredient of success. How do you gain self-confidence so you can attract the success you seek?

Fake it!

Though it sounds ridiculous, faking confidence when you have none will actually give you some! Self-confidence is a perception held by you and others. If you act self-confident whether you feel it or not, others will perceive you as self-confident and be more willing to follow your lead, take you seriously and listen to what you have to say. It's the great paradox where confidence is concerned, almost a "which comes first, the chicken or the egg" situation. Have a little faith in your self and soon you won't have to fake it anymore.

Take risks.

There's no need to fake confidence if you live each day like the day before. All of that is known territory- you've been there, done that. The most …

Il Bronzino : November 23

Venus, Cupid, Folly, and Time, by Il Bronzino.
His sobriquet "Bronzino" was most likely coined after his darker skin.
Florentine painter Il Bronzino, whose portraits are prime examples of the Mannerist style and whose works are classic embodiments of the courtly ideal under the Medici dukes of the mid-16th century, died this day in 1572.

Dear Girl....

Dear Girl,
If your man comes up on some money, like a quarter of a million, and he doesn't put aside some money to marry you ( like he's been promising ), he's probably not going to....

A husband and wife were in bed watching tv. The husband had the remote in hand switching back and forth between the porn and fishing channels. The wife got pissed off grabbed the remote and kept it on the porn channel and said to hubby.. "Leave it on the porn channel you already know how to fish."

If only my life were as easy to fix as these watches....

After a long day at work, fixing these makes me happy.

Dreams

DreamsLady was pregnant and I'm off in some foreign land. Country side flat land. A herd of sheep start running toward me and I see a baby dressed in sheep's clothing on the ground. We are by a wooden fence. I pick up the baby to save it from being trampled by the running sheep. I smile and we laugh. Then the earth multiplies. Mountains upon mountains grow. We're in slow mo time lapse and the clouds are moving while trees are blooming and everything is in abundance. Then I am in a living room trying to figure out how to put a cable into the back of the tv and how to rearrange a sofa set and this living room that now has two tv's. Back to the countryside I start worrying about where I left my purse. I start worrying about identity theft and all my bank cards. Then I'm somehow in a farmhouse and I'm being offered a job but it's only 30 hours per week. I start worrying about how I can survive only working 30 hours hours. I start thinking about the mundane... A…

Goodwill Industries Really Really Really Bad Customer Service

So in the past, I was a different person and if this would've happened then it would've gone down a little differently, but since I'm a little older and hopefully a little wiser I just burn people on paper. This letter will be faxed to Goodwill corporate headquarters, the donation express location, Call Kurtis, Call 3, and all social media outlets.

To whom it may concern: On Saturday April 4th, my children and I decided to go to our storage and gather some items for donation. With Easter the following day I figured it was appropriate to teach my children about altruism, the joys of donation, and its cyclical effect in the community (i.e. offering much needed jobs in this economy).  We spent a good time of our afternoon gathering items, 5 bags worth of clothing and toys hoping it will find itself in a good home. So far, this sounds like a great story right? What could possibly go wrong, you …

Save a Life ... Donate a kidney.

Wow. Its really been a long time since I have written anything.

My dad was recently diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease . Currently, he has only 12% kidney function. His doctor says although the  damage is irreversible there are a lot ways to stop the deterioration. Aside from his cocktail of prescribed medicine, a healthy diet can go a long way. There is a list of food a mile long that he has to avoid. Certain ingredients that are absolute no-no's. My mom is such an excellent cook, it's been really hard adapting to this change. We all try to buy only healthy snacks at the house only items that he can eat as to not tempt him.

The other day was browsing through my "This American Life" app and listening to random podcasts. I ran across this podcast and listened to a segment about Chaya Lipschutz and her website kidneymitzvah.com . Her story inspired me. Long story short, she tries to match kidney donors with patients. For all of those who don't know, once place…
